This incident happened during Mother's Day
I have no plans on how to celebrate Mother's Day this year as I was busy preparing for exams.
At about 5pm I decided to get a cake for mum from Secret Recipe as she would love it.
As I walked in Secret Recipe I saw only 1 whole 'White Chocolate Macadamia' cake out at the display. Others were all sliced cakes. As I walk towards the display I saw a lady looking for cake at the display and my bad luck she ordered the sales-person to pack the cake. When I neared the display the sales-girl said sorry sir no more whole cake available. Deep inside I was like damn! but I said out a little loud that 'I'm definitely not gonna poison my mother'. The lady beside me looked me for a second. I continued saying, I would just take 2 pieces of sliced cake. Looking at the friendly sales-girl, I continued saying 'Kek besar tu gula banyak, tak baik untuk mama, saya nak mama hidup lama. Lagipun share kek kecik lagi best.'
Upon hearing that the lady who ordered the whole cake that I wanted so badly said 'huh, tak apa la adik amik kek yang dah potong la, ambik 2 slice.' to the sales girl. Then she smiled at me and said ' Lagipun kerajaan sekarang duk kempen kurangkan gula' I smiled at her but inside I was so happy !
Once the lady left I told the sales-girl ' Ni takpa, please take the whole cake and write Happy Mother's Day on it. The sales-girl gave me a funny look and I smiled and say ' keluarga saya besar, kek kecik mana cukup'
We both laughed.
I was so happy. I did felt sorry for the lady who wanted to buy the cake before me.
